Managed Service Accounts, Stretch Databases & File Snapshots - Armando Lacerda At our November meeting, we addressed a number of topics in an open table discussion before the baseball game. This month, we'll work with two of them: Managed Service Accounts and Azure SQL. We'll see how to implement Managed Service Accounts instead of regular Windows local or AD accounts, and their benefits. On Azure, we will see two SQL Server 2016 features: Stretch databases, where you can select which portion of your data resides in the cloud, and File-Snapshot backups, which are possible when the whole database lives in the cloud. Armando Lacerda is a Microsoft Certified Trainer, Software Specialist & Developer, and Sacramento SQL Server User Group member.
