SQL PowerShell 2019: The Lingua Franca for the Data Platform - Aaron Nelson (remote)

Let’s say that you need to export a database to Excel, or migrate a schema to Azure SQL Database. It used to be that you for each product, you needed a different tool to talk to it. Now you can talk to all of them with PowerShell.

In this presentation, we’ll see how we can move smoothly from Azure Data Studio, to SQL Server to Azure SQL Database, to Excel. And we’ll do it all with a single tool, PowerShell. We’ll also see how we can take an object-based approach to working with data. In doing so, we’ll be speaking PowerShell’s native language, objects.

By the end of this session, you’ll see how easily PowerShell integrates with many of the Microsoft data products. You’ll also understand how to integrate between different data products.
