New SQL Server Performance Tuning Techniques - Prakash Heda (Remote)

Every new release of SQL Server brings a whole load of new features that DBAs and Developers can add to their arsenal of efficiency. SQL Server 2016 / 2017 has introduced many new features. In this session, we will be learning quite a few of the new features.

Prakash will talk about some of the coolest new features of SQL Server for performance tuning which you can use to quickly troubleshoot & improve performance.

Prakash Heda works as Sr. Manager IT at SS&C & Advent. His expertise includes automation, performance tuning/troubleshooting, high availability, SAN configuration and Windows administration.  He has 15+ years of experience managing enterprise-wide data needs in both high-volume transactional and data warehouse environments. Prakash holds certifications for MCDBA and MCITP. His background includes administration & development using VB/ASP/SSIS using SQL Server 2000 to 2019. An active member of PASS , he’s a frequent presenter at user groups, SQLSaturdays, and other community events. He is also an avid tweeter, blogger and runner.

Meeting Schedule and Structure

The Sacramento SQL Server User Group meets the first Wednesday of every month. Most meetings will have a presentation, while others are open group sessions which allow attendees to discuss SQL Server questions, issues and news as a group.

We start each meeting with some time to network and get situated. Unless otherwise noted, the schedule for each meeting will be:

6:00 PM - 6:15 PM: Mingle/networking, get food & beverages, presentation setup
6:15 PM - 6:30 PM: Group announcements, agenda, introduce speaker
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM: Presentation
7:30 PM - 8:00 PM: Post-meeting discussions
