rosoft has breathed new life into SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) in the next release of SQL Server with SQL Server 2016. Come learn all about the upcoming release and how SSRS remains a major part of Microsoft's road map for Business Intelligence alongside Power BI. We'll explore the new Reporting Portal and uncover all the areas Microsoft has addressed to make organizing content, exploring data, and monitoring KPIs much easier across any browser or any device. We'll also take a look at the new-and-improved development tools, including the Mobile Report Publisher, for use in creating and sharing content. Lastly, we'll consume SSRS reports and KPIs on the Power BI app to experience what's possible for mobile users who are always on the go. He has architected business intelligence solutions using SQL Server, SharePoint, and Tableau and has been in professional IT services for 11 years. Angel is an experienced trainer and mentor in areas such as effective visualization, reporting, dimensional modeling, mobile business intelligence, ETL, RDBMS and OLAP development.

Meeting Schedule and Structure

The Sacramento SQL Server User Group meets the first Wednesday of every month. Most meetings will have a presentation, while others are open group sessions which allow attendees to discuss SQL Server questions, issues and news as a group.

We start each meeting with some time to network and get situated. Unless otherwise noted, the schedule for each meeting will be:

6:00 PM - 6:15 PM: Mingle/networking, get food & beverages, presentation setup
6:15 PM - 6:30 PM: Group announcements, agenda, introduce speaker
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM: Presentation
7:30 PM - 8:00 PM: Post-meeting discussions
